Description
Lead and advise field training for transit and railroad police, coaching officers in patrol, investigations, access control, and incident response to protect railroad and transit property, employees, and passengers.
- • Conduct patrols with trainees in yards, cars, and stations to model procedures that protect property and maintain order.
- • Instruct personnel on credential verification and access control for secured areas.
- • Coach safe detention, removal, and arrest tactics, coordinating with law enforcement partners as needed.
- • Guide trainees through investigations of theft, damage, lost valuables, and other crimes on railroad property.
- • Lead trainee participation in security operations during derailments, fires, floods, or labor actions.
- • Plan, schedule, and oversee daily field training activities, rotations, and assignments.
- • Evaluate trainee performance through ride-alongs, scenario drills, and documented feedback.
- • Review incident and investigation reports, provide corrective coaching, and maintain training records.
- • Develop and implement safety and prevention training, including fire, accident, and crime deterrence programs.
- • Supervise security checks of transit areas and instruct on patrol monitoring technologies and procedures.
- • Train officers on transit traffic law enforcement, citation practices, and de-escalation.
- • Deliver railroad safety and security training to employees, the public, and partner agencies.
