Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate operations of an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation center, overseeing therapy programs, patient services, and community outreach. Manage budgets, staffing, compliance, and policies governing admissions, treatment plans, and discharges. Lead interdisciplinary teams of therapists, nurses, case managers, and support staff to ensure quality outcomes and continuity of care.
  • • Establish and maintain referral partnerships with hospitals, physicians, insurers, and community agencies to meet patient needs and avoid service gaps.
  • • Prepare and maintain operational records and reports, including budgets, census, outcomes, and accreditation documentation.
  • • Direct daily activities of clinical and nonclinical staff, contractors, and volunteers.
  • • Evaluate staff performance and program outcomes to ensure quality, safety, and efficient resource use.
  • • Develop and oversee administrative and clinical policies and procedures aligned with licensing and accreditation standards.
  • • Participate in setting eligibility criteria, admission processes, treatment pathways, and discharge planning policies.
  • • Analyze community health data and referral trends to guide program development and capacity planning.
  • • Present the center's services and results to community groups, referral sources, and stakeholder meetings.
  • • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard staff; coordinate credentialing and privileging as applicable.
  • • Represent the center with regulators, payers, and media, ensuring consistent messaging and compliance.
  • • Plan and manage budgets for programs, equipment, therapies, and facility operations.
  • • Review and interpret healthcare regulations, payer rules, and authorization requirements to assess impact on services.
  • • Advise staff on interpreting federal, state, and accreditation standards, privacy rules, and clinical documentation policies.
  • • Oversee fundraising, grants, and marketing initiatives to support program growth and patient access.
  • • Address patient and family concerns, coordinate escalated care issues, and ensure timely resolution of complaints and grievances.
  • • Implement and evaluate training for staff and volunteers, including competencies, safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness.
