Description
Lead and manage a nonprofit’s strategy, programs, operations, and finances. Partner with the board to set direction, ensure compliance and fiscal stewardship, and advance mission impact through effective services, partnerships, fundraising, and advocacy.
  • • Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, funders, and agencies to align services and avoid duplication.
  • • Oversee accurate records, reports, grants, and compliance documentation, including budgets and personnel files.
  • • Lead and supervise staff and key volunteers; set goals and performance standards.
  • • Monitor program quality and outcomes to ensure effective, equitable use of resources.
  • • Establish and optimize administrative procedures to meet objectives approved by the board.
  • • Collaborate with the board on organizational policies, including participant eligibility, program requirements, and benefits.
  • • Conduct or commission community needs assessments to inform strategy and program design.
  • • Serve as the public face of the organization; present to community groups, donors, and stakeholders.
  • • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain staff; engage and manage volunteers.
  • • Represent the organization with government officials, coalitions, and media.
  • • Prepare and manage operating and program budgets; ensure strong financial controls.
  • • Track, analyze, and respond to legislation and regulations affecting programs and funding.
  • • Advise staff and partner programs on interpreting relevant federal, state, and local regulations and grant policies.
  • • Lead fundraising strategy, including grants, major gifts, events, and communications.
  • • Ensure responsive client services and resolve escalated concerns and referrals.
  • • Design, implement, and evaluate training and development for staff, volunteers, and board members.
