Description
Plan, direct, and supervise mail and parcel distribution operations, coordinating staff, resources, and support services to meet safety, quality, and service targets in compliance with postal policies.
- • Organize and supervise processing of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels across sorting, staging, and dispatch areas.
- • Direct and coordinate daily operations across assigned shifts or zones to meet throughput and service commitments.
- • Resolve service issues and customer or stakeholder complaints, escalating systemic problems as needed.
- • Hire, onboard, and train clerks, mail handlers, and team leads; evaluate performance and coach for improvement.
- • Prepare, publish, and adjust employee work schedules and shift assignments.
- • Compile, analyze, and submit operational reports on volume, productivity, quality, service, and safety.
- • Address attendance, conduct, and grievance matters in accordance with labor agreements and policy.
- • Ensure availability of containers, labels, PPE, and other operating supplies.
- • Control accountable mail, keys, and forms in accordance with security procedures.
- • Communicate service standards, operating changes, and postal regulations to employees and partner units.
- • Select, develop, and mentor lead workers and acting supervisors.
- • Coordinate with maintenance and vendors to requisition supplies, obtain bids, and schedule equipment repairs within regulations.
- • Monitor timekeeping, approve payroll, and track attendance for accuracy.
