Description
Operate or tend sealing machines to close bags, pouches, cartons, or containers for storage or shipment. Ensure seal integrity, accurate coding, and packaging quality.
- • Observe sealing operations to ensure seal quality and package conformity to standards.
- • Set up and adjust seal bar temperature, dwell time, pressure, guides, and belt speed; perform size and material changeovers.
- • Operate heat, band, induction, or vacuum sealing machines.
- • Remove sealed items from the machine and separate rejects or leakers.
- • Regulate product flow, machine speed, and cooling air to maintain proper seals.
- • Stop or reset machines during malfunctions, clear jams or misfeeds, and report issues to a supervisor.
- • Secure packaged items by sealing closures, applying tamper-evident bands, or crimping lids.
- • Stock and sort products and packaging; replenish films, pouches, bags, bands, and labels.
- • Inspect and remove defective seals, leaks, or damaged packaging materials.
- • Clean sealing surfaces and remove debris or damaged materials to prepare items for sealing.
- • Verify seal integrity with peel, burst, or visual checks; record results and adjust settings to meet specifications.
- • Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments or repairs to sealers, guides, and conveyors.
- • Monitor the line for misaligned seams, wrinkles, poor adhesion, or code smearing.
- • Stack sealed items, apply protective wraps, and pack in cartons or totes.
- • Start equipment, run test seals, and confirm parameters before production.
- • Count and record finished and rejected sealed items or lots.
- • Feed products or packages to infeed belts, chutes, or sealing jaws; unload sealed output.
- • Attach identification labels, date codes, or lot numbers to sealed items or cases.
- • Maintain accurate production logs, material usage, and downtime records.
- • Clean the work area and prepare cartons, trays, or inserts for packing sealed products.
