Description
Operate and tend bottling machines to fill, cap, label, and package liquid products for storage or shipment, ensuring product quality, sanitation, and safety compliance.
- • Observe bottling line to ensure fill level, cap seal, and labeling meet quality standards.
- • Set up and adjust fillers, cappers, labelers, coders, and conveyors for bottle size and product changeovers.
- • Start, operate, and shut down bottling machines and auxiliary equipment.
- • Monitor and verify fill volume or weight, cap torque or vacuum, and label placement; adjust to specifications.
- • Maintain accurate counts and records of good, scrap, and rework units and line downtime.
- • Pack finished bottles into cases, apply protective wraps, and stack or palletize cartons.
- • Apply or verify lot and date codes and affix identification labels to bottles or cases.
- • Supply product to surge tanks or hoppers and unload finished cases from conveyors.
- • Regulate machine speed, product flow, temperature, and pressure or vacuum as required.
- • Clear jams, reset equipment after faults, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
- • Remove defective bottles and segregate rejects for rework or disposal.
- • Replenish bottles, caps, labels, shrink sleeves, cartons, and case dividers.
- • Inspect and rinse or sanitize bottles before filling when required.
- • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation (CIP/COP) of tanks, fillers, and contact surfaces.
- • Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments or repairs, such as setting guides and nozzles.
- • Sort, grade, and weigh samples to verify product meets specifications.
- • Monitor for issues such as bottle pile-ups, tipped bottles, misapplied caps, or label adhesion problems.
- • Prepare and assemble cartons, inserts, and dividers for packing.
- • Follow GMP, HACCP, and safety procedures and use required PPE.
- • Assist with changeovers and line startups to minimize downtime.
