Description
Operate and tend case erectors, packers, and sealing machines to load products into corrugated cases, seal and label them, and prepare finished goods for storage or shipment while maintaining quality and line efficiency.
- • Observe case packer and sealer operation to ensure case quality, correct pack pattern, and seal integrity.
- • Adjust guides, compression, tape or glue settings, and sensors for different case sizes.
- • Operate case erectors, packers, tapers, and hot-melt sealers.
- • Remove sealed cases from discharge and segregate rejects or rework.
- • Regulate line speed, product feed, and glue pot temperature.
- • Stop or reset equipment during faults, clear jams, and notify maintenance or supervision.
- • Manually secure or rework cases with tape, staples, straps, or glue when needed.
- • Load case magazines, dividers, pads, tape rolls, glue, and labels, and stage product.
- • Inspect primary packs and corrugate for damage, contamination, or defects.
- • Discard damaged cases and remove inferior materials prior to packing.
- • Verify case counts, weights, and code dates, and adjust equipment to meet specifications.
- • Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments, and perform basic changeovers.
- • Monitor for issues such as mispacks, case crush, tape breakage, or poor glue adhesion.
- • Palletize or stage sealed cases, apply protective materials, or feed to a palletizer.
- • Start up and shut down case packing and sealing equipment using controls.
- • Record production, rejects, downtime, and lot or batch information.
- • Pack products into cases per specified pattern when required by hand assist.
- • Supply flats and materials to magazines and unload sealed cases from conveyors.
- • Apply or verify case labels, barcodes, and lot or expiration information.
- • Assemble or verify erected cases, insert liners or pads as required, and keep the area clean.
