Description
Operate and tend automatic and semi-automatic bagging machines to fill, seal, and prepare products for storage or shipment, ensuring weights, seals, and labeling meet standards.
- • Stack bagged items, wrap as needed, and pack into cartons or containers.
- • Count and record finished and rejected bags, lot numbers, and downtime.
- • Print or attach identification labels, date codes, and lot information.
- • Supply product to hoppers and unload finished product from conveyors.
- • Assemble cartons, line or pad containers, and prepare packaging materials.
- • Follow safety, sanitation, and GMP procedures; keep the work area clean.
- • Support changeovers and size changes; verify materials and settings before runs.
- • Set up and operate bagging machines to fill and seal products to specification.
- • Observe bagging operations for weight, fill level, seal integrity, and code quality.
- • Adjust speed, temperature, air, tension, and guides for bag size and product.
- • Start, stop, and reset machines; clear jams and report malfunctions.
- • Regulate product flow, augers, conveyors, and weighers to meet throughput.
- • Calibrate and verify scales and checkweighers for accurate weights.
- • Inspect and remove defective bags, seals, and packaging materials.
- • Remove finished bags from the machine and segregate rejects.
- • Secure bags by heat sealing, sewing, taping, or applying closures.
- • Load film, pre-made bags, labels, thread, ink, and other supplies.
- • Clean and prepare hoppers, chutes, and contact surfaces; remove inferior raw materials.
- • Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and guide or valve adjustments.
- • Monitor the line for pile-ups, bridging, spillage, or poor seal adhesion.
