Description
Set up, operate, and monitor packaging machines to prepare products for storage or shipment, ensuring correct packaging, sealing, labeling, and quality. Perform changeovers, replenish materials, conduct basic maintenance, and follow safety and GMP standards.
- • Monitor packaging machine operation to ensure packages meet quality standards.
- • Set up and adjust machine components, guides, seals, and film tension for product size.
- • Operate automatic or semi-automatic packaging equipment.
- • Remove finished packages from the machine and segregate rejects.
- • Regulate machine speed, temperature, air pressure, and product flow.
- • Stop or reset equipment during malfunctions; clear jams and notify supervision or maintenance.
- • Seal and secure packages by machine or hand as required.
- • Load, stock, and sort product and replenish packaging materials such as film, cartons, labels, glue, and ink.
- • Inspect and remove defective product or packaging.
- • Discard damaged materials and prepare packaging materials for use.
- • Weigh or measure packages and verify counts to meet specifications; adjust settings as needed.
- • Clean, lubricate, and make minor mechanical adjustments or repairs.
- • Monitor the line for pile-ups, jams, misapplied labels, or poor seals.
- • Stack finished packages and pack them into cartons or containers with protective materials.
- • Start up and shut down machines using standard controls and procedures.
- • Count and record finished, scrap, and rejected packages in production logs.
- • Package product in required formats, such as bags, pouches, flow wrap, or cartons.
- • Supply materials to hoppers, spindles, conveyors, or other feeders and unload packaged product.
- • Apply or verify identification labels, date codes, and lot numbers on packages and cartons.
- • Assemble cartons, line or pad containers, and clean packaging areas and equipment.
