Description
Set up, operate, and tend labeling machines to apply printed or pressure-sensitive labels to products, containers, or cartons for storage or shipment. Monitor quality, verify codes, and maintain supplies and equipment.
- • Observe labeling operations to ensure label placement, adhesion, and print quality meet specifications.
- • Adjust labeler heads, guides, tension, and wipe/roll pressure for product size and label position.
- • Operate automatic and semi-automatic labeling machines.
- • Remove labeled items from the line and segregate rejects.
- • Regulate conveyor flow, application speed, and adhesive or hot-stamp temperature.
- • Stop or reset machines during malfunctions, clear jams, and report issues to a supervisor.
- • Hand-apply or rework labels when required to meet quality standards.
- • Stage product for labeling and replenish labels, ribbons, ink, adhesive, and cartons.
- • Inspect and remove products with misapplied, damaged, or incorrect labels.
- • Clean product surfaces to ensure label adhesion and remove debris or oils.
- • Verify label content, lot codes, barcodes, and date codes against job specifications; adjust print settings as needed.
- • Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments or repairs to labeling equipment and conveyors.
- • Monitor the line for skewed, bubbled, wrinkled, or missing labels, and for pile-ups or glue issues.
- • Stack or tray labeled items and route them for packing or shipment.
- • Start, load, and change over jobs using machine controls or HMI.
- • Count and record labeled and rejected items; complete production logs and label reconciliation.
- • Select correct label rolls and templates; print and apply labels from approved data sources.
- • Load label rolls onto unwind/rewind spindles and thread web through the machine.
- • Apply identification, barcode, and compliance labels to products, cartons, or pallets.
- • Clean labeling heads and sensors, dispose of waste liner, and maintain a safe, organized work area.
