Description
Develops and manages a comprehensive planned giving program to secure bequests, charitable trusts, gift annuities, and other deferred or complex gifts. Cultivates donors and advisors, markets legacy giving, stewards legacy society members, and coordinates gift documentation and estate administration to advance the organization's mission.
  • • Attend estate planning seminars, advisor meetings, or community events to promote legacy giving.
  • • Contact attorneys, financial advisors, and community leaders to raise awareness of planned giving options.
  • • Create or update planned giving prospect and expectancy records in the CRM.
  • • Design or produce planned giving brochures, web pages, calculators, and newsletters.
  • • Develop legacy society and donor recognition and stewardship programs.
  • • Develop annual planned giving marketing plans that maximize qualified leads and minimize costs.
  • • Implement multi-channel planned giving campaigns, including direct mail, email, and digital.
  • • Develop strategies for bequests, beneficiary designations, and blended gift proposals.
  • • Manage web-based planned giving tools, landing pages, and inquiry forms.
  • • Mentor or supervise staff or volunteers supporting planned giving marketing and estate administration.
  • • Set goals for leads, proposals, expectancies, and realized estate revenue.
  • • Explain the tax and estate planning advantages of planned gifts to donors and advisors.
  • • Identify and cultivate planned giving prospects using loyalty, age, and wealth indicators.
  • • Monitor the planned giving budget, vendor contracts, and compliance with gift acceptance and CGA/state regulations.
  • • Track pipeline progress for expectancies, proposals, open estates, and realized gifts.
  • • Plan and host legacy society events, donor seminars, and advisor briefings.
  • • Recruit professional advisors for councils, speaking engagements, or volunteer roles.
  • • Secure bequest intentions, beneficiary designations, and signed gift agreements.
  • • Solicit charitable trusts, gift annuities, retained life estates, and other complex gifts.
  • • Write articles, presentations, and messages promoting legacy giving and donor impact.
  • • Prepare personalized gift illustrations, proposals, and documentation for planned gifts.
  • • Conduct research on donor life events, assets, and giving history to qualify planned giving prospects.
  • • Coordinate execution and receipt of estate documents, beneficiary forms, and asset transfers.
  • • Build and maintain relationships with estate attorneys, trust officers, and financial planners.
  • • Prepare will language, advisor toolkits, and planned giving information packets.
  • • Secure estate planning speakers for seminars and legacy society events.
  • • Steward legacy society members and send timely acknowledgments and estate receipts.
  • • Report on expectancies, probate status, and realized bequests to leadership.
