Description
Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity donors to secure major gifts that advance organizational priorities. Manage a focused portfolio, build strategic relationships, craft tailored proposals and gift agreements, and deliver measurable revenue through individualized fundraising plans.
  • • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
  • • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and corporate leaders.
  • • Develop individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies and moves plans.
  • • Conduct in-person and virtual donor meetings, site visits, and targeted outreach.
  • • Prepare compelling cases for support, concept notes, and customized major gift proposals.
  • • Secure six- and seven-figure gifts, multi-year pledges, and gift commitments.
  • • Draft and negotiate gift agreements in collaboration with legal and finance.
  • • Coordinate leadership, board, and program staff involvement in donor cultivation and asks.
  • • Set annual revenue goals and activity metrics for the assigned portfolio.
  • • Forecast, track, and report pipeline, proposals, and results against goals.
  • • Maintain accurate contact reports, plans, and gift data in the CRM.
  • • Partner with prospect research to analyze wealth, affinity, and giving capacity.
  • • Develop and execute stewardship plans, including impact reports and recognition.
  • • Work with communications to tailor proposal materials, presentations, and briefings.
  • • Brief executives and volunteers for donor meetings and events.
  • • Plan and host small cultivation or stewardship events, salons, or donor briefings.
  • • Explain charitable giving vehicles, tax benefits, and matching-gift opportunities to donors.
  • • Collaborate with planned giving and corporate/foundation relations on complex gifts and grants.
  • • Ensure gifts comply with organizational policies and donor intent.
  • • Monitor budgets and expenses related to major gift cultivation and travel.
  • • Coordinate donor recognition, naming opportunities, and benefits.
  • • Manage follow-up, acknowledgment letters, and fulfillment of pledge schedules.
  • • Develop relationships with centers of influence, advisors, and community leaders.
  • • Use data to segment prospects and prioritize outreach for maximum ROI.
  • • Support campaign strategy, gift pyramids, and volunteer committees.
  • • Travel to meet donors within the assigned territory.
  • • Write reports and presentations for leadership on major gifts performance.
  • • Maintain confidentiality and ethical fundraising practices.
