Description
Teach engineering courses that apply physical laws and engineering principles to design, fabrication, and problem solving across areas such as mechanical, electrical, civil, and robotics. Deliver project-based instruction, supervise labs and makerspaces, assess learning, and advise students on college and career pathways. May coordinate internships, industry partnerships, and extracurricular engineering activities.
  • • Plan and deliver lessons on topics such as mechanics, CAD, electronics, materials, and robotics.
  • • Stay current through professional development, certifications, and industry engagement.
  • • Supervise student laboratory work, projects, and work-based learning or internships.
  • • Evaluate and grade classwork, laboratory work, projects, and assignments.
  • • Design, implement, and assess project-based learning and capstone experiences.
  • • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, project briefs, rubrics, and handouts.
  • • Create, administer, and grade quizzes, tests, and performance assessments.
  • • Pursue grants and partnerships to acquire equipment, software, and program funding.
  • • Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe, compliant lab environment.
  • • Facilitate class discussions, design critiques, and team stand-ups.
  • • Provide extra help and tutoring during office, advisory, or after-school times.
  • • Plan, evaluate, and revise curriculum aligned to standards and industry frameworks.
  • • Advise students on coursework, certifications, college options, and career pathways.
  • • Maintain attendance, grades, safety documentation, and other required records.
  • • Collaborate with science, math, and CTE staff on interdisciplinary projects.
  • • Select, purchase, and maintain textbooks, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • • Support recruitment, outreach, and student placement in internships and competitions.
  • • Serve on school or district committees related to curriculum, safety, or accreditation.
  • • Perform departmental duties such as scheduling, budgeting, or leading PLCs.
  • • Coordinate with industry advisors and community partners for mentors and guest speakers.
  • • Curate and share digital resources, design briefs, and technical references.
  • • Advise and coach robotics, engineering clubs, and competition teams.
  • • Participate in school and community STEM nights, showcases, and career fairs.
  • • Maintain licensure and complete required trainings; ensure compliance with CTE and safety regulations.
