Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate engineering courses and labs; mentor students; and build a scholarly, externally funded research program in areas such as chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical, mineral, or petroleum engineering. Publish and present findings, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in departmental and university service.
  • • Develop and deliver lectures and laboratories on mechanics, hydraulics, robotics, and related topics.
  • • Design syllabi, assignments, projects, and lab handouts.
  • • Create, administer, and grade exams, homework, and reports.
  • • Maintain office hours and advise students on coursework and careers.
  • • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research, teaching assistants, and internships.
  • • Oversee and ensure safety in student laboratory work.
  • • Conduct original research; analyze data; publish in peer-reviewed venues.
  • • Write grant proposals and manage sponsored projects and budgets.
  • • Recruit, mentor, and supervise graduate students and research assistants.
  • • Present research at professional conferences and seminars.
  • • Stay current with advances by reading literature and collaborating with colleagues.
  • • Plan and revise course content and teaching methods based on assessment.
  • • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and compliance documentation.
  • • Select textbooks, software, and laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and placement activities.
  • • Serve on departmental and university committees.
  • • Advise and support student organizations and capstone teams.
  • • Review manuscripts and proposals for journals and conferences.
  • • Contribute to program assessment, accreditation, and curriculum improvement.
  • • Engage in outreach with industry and community partners.
  • • Facilitate inclusive, discussion-based and project-based learning.
  • • Collaborate on interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.
  • • Uphold university and lab safety policies and complete required training.
