Description
Set up, operate, and monitor SMT lines to assemble and modify printed circuit board assemblies, including stencil printing, component placement, reflow, and inspection, per work orders and quality standards.
- • Inspect solder paste deposits, component placement, and solder joints using SPI/AOI and microscopes; record results.
- • Set up and operate stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens to build PCB assemblies.
- • Perform SMT rework and touch-up, replacing components to correct defects per IPC standards.
- • Clean stencils, squeegees, feeders, and machine parts; maintain ESD-safe work areas.
- • Read BOMs, placement files, assembly drawings, and work orders to determine materials and setup.
- • Label reels, feeders, and lots for traceability and inventory control.
- • Align boards, verify fiducials, and adjust printer and placement offsets for accuracy.
- • Package finished PCBAs with ESD-safe materials and transfer to next process or storage.
- • Collaborate with supervisors, quality, or process engineers to resolve line issues or improve yields.
- • Explain line setup and operating procedures to team members and assist in training.
- • Set and verify reflow profiles, print parameters, and vacuum/vision settings to meet specifications.
- • Prepare panels and rails, cut component tapes, and install or replace nozzles per setup.
- • Perform machine changeovers, load programs, and verify feeder mappings and reference data.
- • Record production data, yields, downtime, oven profiles, and component scrap in logs or MES.
- • Support first-article and NPI builds, reporting placement or documentation issues promptly.
- • Stage and replenish reels, solder paste, trays, and panels at the SMT line.
