Description
Assemble, modify, and test battery cells, modules, and packs by installing cells, bus bars, wiring, casings, and BMS components; weld or solder connections, seal enclosures, and troubleshoot to meet specifications and safety standards.
  • • Inspect and test cells, modules, or packs for voltage, capacity, internal resistance, and functionality; record results.
  • • Assemble cells into modules/packs and install bus bars, tabs, wiring harnesses, BMS, and casings using spot welding, soldering, riveting, or bolting.
  • • Adjust, repair, or replace cells, tabs, fuses, or electronics to correct defects and meet specifications.
  • • Clean cells, enclosures, and work surfaces using approved solutions, air, and wipes.
  • • Read and interpret battery schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, BOMs, specifications, and work orders to determine materials and assembly steps.
  • • Mark and tag cells, modules, or packs with barcodes or serial numbers for traceability and inventory.
  • • Position, align, and fixture cells and components to ensure proper spacing, polarity, and adhesion before welding or assembly.
  • • Pack finished battery packs for shipment per safety and hazmat requirements; move to storage using hoists or hand trucks.
  • • Confer with supervisors, quality, or engineers to plan builds or resolve production or quality issues.
  • • Explain assembly procedures, safety practices, or techniques to other assemblers.
  • • Measure and balance cell voltages to specified values to verify pack performance.
  • • Fabricate or form bus bars, cell tabs, insulators, gaskets, or enclosures using drills, cutters, calipers, or saws.
  • • Drill or tap holes in enclosures to mount BMS, terminals, or provide openings for wiring, sensors, or vents.
  • • Complete, review, or maintain production records, test data, time logs, and scrap or waste reports.
  • • Instruct customers or field technicians on battery installation, handling, charging, or maintenance basics.
  • • Distribute materials, cells, and subassemblies to workstations.
