Description
Build, wire, and modify electrical control panels and enclosures for machinery and facilities, following schematics and layouts; mount components, route and terminate wiring, and test for compliance.
- • Inspect and test panel wiring, terminations, and circuits for continuity, insulation resistance, and proper operation; record results.
- • Assemble control panels and enclosures; mount components, DIN rail, wire duct, and subassemblies using bolts, rivets, crimping, or soldering.
- • Adjust, repair, or replace breakers, relays, PLCs, VFDs, and other components to meet specifications.
- • Clean panels and components with approved solutions, air, and wipes.
- • Read schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work orders to determine materials and build steps.
- • Label wires, terminals, and devices per drawings and maintain inventory traceability.
- • Position, align, and secure components and wireways; route and terminate wiring to spec.
- • Package finished panels for shipment and move them to storage or staging.
- • Work with supervisors or engineers to plan builds and resolve design or production issues.
- • Explain assembly procedures and techniques to other builders.
- • Power up panels; measure and set voltages, test I/O, and verify instrument accuracy.
- • Fabricate backplates, cutouts, and brackets using drills, punches, calipers, cutters, or saws.
- • Drill and tap holes in panels or backplates to mount devices or provide entries for wiring and instruments.
- • Maintain build records, test sheets, time logs, and component usage reports.
- • Provide installation documentation and basic commissioning support as needed.
