Description
Coordinate and dispatch taxi drivers and vehicles to transport passengers, using radio, phone, GPS, or dispatch software; manage bookings, monitor fleet status, and compile trip and performance reports.
- • Dispatch taxis and drivers to pickups based on customer requests and service priorities.
- • Receive, prioritize, and enter phone, app, and account bookings.
- • Monitor vehicle locations, statuses, and ETAs via GPS/CAD to balance supply and demand.
- • Relay trip assignments, updates, and routing instructions by radio or phone.
- • Advise drivers of traffic, road closures, weather, and special-event impacts.
- • Coordinate shifts, standbys, and staging at airports, stations, and hotspots.
- • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, no-shows, and lost-and-found.
- • Arrange roadside assistance or vehicle swaps for breakdowns; schedule repairs with maintenance.
- • Prepare daily rosters, run sheets, and trip manifests.
- • Record trips, fares, vouchers, mileage, and account charges; maintain dispatch logs and reports.
- • Verify driver and vehicle availability, licensing, and equipment compliance before dispatch.
- • Order and issue radios, keys, meters, and other supplies; track inventory.
