Description
Coordinate scheduling and dispatch of repair technicians, service vehicles, and equipment for maintenance and emergency service at customer locations. Use phone, radio, and dispatch software to assign work, track progress, communicate with customers and crews, and compile service metrics and reports.
- • Schedule and dispatch repair technicians and service vehicles to customer sites based on requests, priorities, and SLAs.
- • Arrange parts, tools, and vendor support needed to complete repairs.
- • Relay work orders, diagnostics, and updates between field technicians, supervisors, and customers via phone or two-way radio.
- • Confer with customers to gather symptoms, confirm appointments, and address service issues.
- • Prepare daily service routes, on-call rosters, and shift assignments.
- • Receive, create, and prioritize repair work orders in the dispatch system.
- • Oversee communications within assigned service territories and after-hours coverage.
- • Monitor technician locations, job statuses, and asset utilization to coordinate schedules.
- • Record and maintain service logs, customer requests, time, charges, parts used, and other dispatch data.
- • Determine required technicians, parts, equipment, or permits based on work orders and specifications.
- • Advise field staff about traffic, weather, site access, or safety hazards affecting service.
- • Order parts and supplies, issue them to technicians, and coordinate returns or warranty claims.
