Description
Plan, release, and monitor domestic and international flights by coordinating aircraft, crews, routes, and services; compute fuel and performance; evaluate weather and NOTAMs; and exercise joint operational control with the PIC. Use radio, ACARS, and computer systems to issue flight plans, communicate with pilots and ATC, and manage irregular operations and required records.
  • • Plan and dispatch flights per company procedures and regulations, issuing legal flight releases.
  • • Develop and file flight plans with routes, altitudes, alternates, and fuel requirements.
  • • Analyze weather, NOTAMs, and airspace restrictions to select safe and efficient routes.
  • • Compute aircraft performance, weight and balance limits, and payload availability.
  • • Monitor flight progress and aircraft/crew status via ACARS and tracking tools, adjusting plans as needed.
  • • Relay operational messages between pilots, maintenance, ramp/gate operations, and ATC.
  • • Coordinate with maintenance on MEL/CDL items and arrange corrective actions or deferrals.
  • • Manage irregular operations, diversions, and delays, securing alternates, slots, and services.
  • • Prepare daily flight schedules, crew briefings, and operational summaries.
  • • Create and maintain flight releases, flight logs, and operational control records for compliance.
  • • Advise flight crews of hazards such as turbulence, icing, convective weather, TFRs, and traffic flow programs.
  • • Arrange ground services and supplies, including deicing, fuel, catering, and load documentation.
