Description
Operate two-way radio and computer-aided dispatch systems to schedule and direct field crews, vehicles, or equipment for transport, installation, service, or repairs outside the facility. Prioritize calls, transmit assignments via radio, maintain communication logs, and compile status and performance reports while following radio protocols and regulations.
  • • Dispatch field crews, vehicles, or equipment via two-way radio according to customer requests and specifications.
  • • Prioritize, assign, and update calls using radio and computer-aided dispatch tools.
  • • Relay work orders, status updates, and messages between crews, supervisors, and inspectors over radio.
  • • Monitor radio channels and GPS/AVL to track unit locations and utilization.
  • • Confer with customers or supervisors to resolve questions, problems, or service requests.
  • • Prepare and adjust daily radio call schedules and run sheets.
  • • Receive, enter, and close work orders and job numbers.
  • • Arrange repairs or service restoration and coordinate with shops or vendors as needed.
  • • Advise crews on routes, traffic, weather, road closures, and other hazards.
  • • Oversee radio discipline and channel usage within assigned territories and enforce procedures.
  • • Record and maintain radio logs, timestamps, requests, work performed, charges, and inventory.
  • • Determine and stage required personnel, vehicles, or materials based on work orders or specifications.
