Description
Oversee daily on-site construction operations to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. Coordinate crews, subcontractors, logistics, and inspections; enforce codes, permits, and environmental and safety requirements. Implement project plans, track progress and costs, resolve field issues, and coordinate with project managers, designers, and clients.
- • Confer with project managers, supervisors, owners, contractors, and design teams to resolve site procedures, complaints, and construction issues.
- • Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day site activities for construction, maintenance, and commissioning.
- • Determine crew sizes, trade sequencing, and shift needs; dispatch workers and coordinate subcontractor manpower.
- • Inspect work to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, building codes, safety standards, and permits.
- • Review plans and job specifications to select appropriate construction means and methods.
- • Requisition materials, equipment, and temporary works; schedule deliveries and on-site storage.
- • Prepare and submit daily logs, look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and cost or quantity tracking.
- • Implement site quality control inspections, testing, and punch-list closeout.
- • Apply green building and waste-reduction practices on site to minimize environmental impacts.

- • Support preconstruction site assessments, logistics planning, and mobilization or setup.
- • Coordinate required third-party inspections and documentation, including LEED or similar certifications when applicable.
- • Plan, sequence, and coordinate trade activities to meet milestones and critical-path deadlines.
- • Investigate and report site incidents, damage, or delays; enforce corrective actions.
- • Provide field direction, clarify scopes, and support change order pricing with the project manager.
- • Adjust schedules, manpower, and methods to mitigate weather, delays, or emergencies.
- • Interpret drawings, specifications, and contract requirements for crews, subcontractors, and clients.
- • Arrange and track permits, utility locates, and jurisdictional inspections; ensure postings and compliance.
- • Assess construction methods, temporary works, and equipment choices for safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- • Oversee subcontractors and self-perform craft work; verify productivity and workmanship.
- • Direct and supervise site labor, equipment operators, and forepersons.
- • Manage site logistics, access, traffic control, hoisting, and laydown areas.
- • Maintain as-built documentation, RFIs, and closeout records; support testing, commissioning, and turnover.
