Description
Coach and develop golfers for competitive play by teaching swing mechanics, short-game skills, course management, and rules and etiquette. Evaluate strengths and weaknesses, design practices and conditioning to maximize performance, select lineups, and analyze performance data. Recruit and mentor student-athletes and prepare them for tournaments.
- • Plan, organize, and conduct range, short-game, and on-course practice sessions.
- • Plan match and tournament strategies and select lineups through team qualifiers.
- • Design and direct golf-specific conditioning and mobility programs.
- • Adjust coaching techniques based on each golfers' swing mechanics and mental game.

- • Monitor safe and proper use of clubs, carts, range balls, and training aids.
- • Develop and arrange schedules for qualifiers, matches, and tournaments.
- • Explain and enforce safety protocols, including lightning and heat guidelines.
- • Organize and lead team practices, qualifiers, and scrimmages; officiate as needed.
- • Demonstrate use of training tools and technology, such as launch monitors and putting mats.
- • Plan and run clinics, camps, and pre-season evaluations.
- • Select, inventory, and issue team equipment, apparel, and supplies.
- • Provide technical instruction, motivation, and guidance on nutrition and recovery.
- • Teach golf instruction courses and advise student-athletes on skill development.
- • Communicate with parents or guardians about schedules, performance, and expectations.
- • Arrange travel, tee times, lodging, and meals for away tournaments.
- • Hire, supervise, and develop assistant coaches, volunteer staff, and team managers.
- • Maintain video, stat-tracking, and performance records (e.g., strokes gained, fairways hit).
- • Counsel student-athletes on academic, athletic, and personal matters.
- • Lead community outreach, media engagements, and fundraising events such as charity scrambles.
- • Monitor academic eligibility and compliance with institutional and governing-body rules.
- • Identify and recruit potential golfers through showcases, tournaments, and direct outreach.
- • Manage program budget, purchasing, fundraising, and relationships with courses and vendors.
