Description
Coach and develop baseball players and teams for competitive play, teaching fundamentals of hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and game awareness. Design practices and strategies, evaluate athletes and recruits to improve performance and roster quality, and oversee safety, compliance, staff, and program operations.
- • Plan, organize, and conduct baseball practices focused on hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
- • Design game strategies; set lineups, pitching rotations, and bullpen usage.
- • Implement arm-care and strength/conditioning programs to maximize performance and reduce injury risk.
- • Adjust individual coaching based on each player's strengths, weaknesses, and position demands.
- • Create and file scouting reports on opponents and recruits, including spray charts and tendencies.
- • Teach baseball rules, situational strategies, and proper mechanics for all positions.
- • Analyze opponents to plan defensive alignments, pitch calling, and offensive tactics.

- • Organize and lead scrimmages, clinics, camps, and preseason tryouts.
- • Demonstrate the use of batting cages, tees, radar guns, training aids, and weight-room equipment.
- • Select, acquire, inventory, and issue baseball equipment and uniforms.
- • Provide instruction, feedback, motivation, and guidance on nutrition, recovery, and mental skills.
- • Conduct classroom or video sessions to teach concepts and review film; advise student-athletes.
- • Communicate with parents/guardians about schedules, expectations, and player progress.
- • Coordinate travel logistics and accompany the team to away games and tournaments.
- • Hire, mentor, and supervise assistant coaches, trainers, and support staff.
- • Maintain and analyze statistics and video for players, team, and opponents using scoring and analytics software.
- • Counsel student-athletes on academic, athletic, and personal matters and connect them with resources.
- • Represent the program in community outreach, media engagements, and fundraising events.
- • Monitor academic eligibility and ensure compliance with school, league, and governing-body rules.
- • Recruit prospective players through scouting, communications, visits, and scholarship offers where applicable.
- • Manage the program budget, equipment purchases, and fundraising initiatives.
- • Oversee field preparation and maintenance in coordination with facilities staff.
