Description
Operate and tend equipment to wash and decontaminate tanks, totes, and similar vessels, removing residues and impurities to meet cleanliness specifications.
  • • Operate and monitor tank-washing machines, CIP systems, and pressure washers to clean interior and exterior surfaces.
  • • Add and adjust cleaning chemicals to maintain required concentrations and solution levels.
  • • Drain, clean, and refill wash systems and tanks at scheduled intervals.
  • • Measure, weigh, or mix cleaning solutions using calibrated containers and instruments.
  • • Collect rinse or solution samples and test for conformance to pH, conductivity, or specific gravity; submit samples for lab analysis as needed.
  • • Observe machine operations, gauges, flow meters, and thermometers; adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • • Set wash parameters for temperature and cycle length and start pumps, spray heads, agitators, and conveyors.
  • • Inspect tanks and washing equipment to verify cleanliness and detect malfunctions.
  • • Record readings, materials used, processing times, and test results in logs or electronic systems.
  • • Adjust, clean, and lubricate pumps, spray nozzles, and mechanical parts using hand tools and grease guns.
  • • Connect and disconnect hoses and fittings, and stage or move tanks to and from wash areas using material handling equipment.
