Description
Operate and tend parts-cleaning equipment to wash, degrease, and remove contaminants from metal and plastic components before assembly, finishing, or shipment.
- • Operate aqueous, ultrasonic, spray, and solvent parts washers to remove oils, chips, and contaminants.
- • Load, rack, and fixture parts; unload to racks, carts, or conveyors after cleaning.
- • Set and verify wash, rinse, and dry cycles; start conveyors, pumps, blowers, and agitators.
- • Monitor gauges, timers, and temperatures; adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
- • Mix, measure, and replenish detergents, solvents, and inhibitors to maintain levels and concentrations.
- • Check solution concentration (titration, pH, refractometer) or draw samples for lab analysis.
- • Drain, clean, and refill tanks and sumps at set intervals; remove sludge, tramp oil, and debris.
- • Inspect parts for cleanliness criteria and damage; rework or reclean as needed.
- • Record lot numbers, materials used, cycle data, and test results in production logs or electronic systems.
- • Perform basic preventive maintenance: clean screens and nozzles, replace filters, adjust and lubricate moving parts.
- • Handle chemicals and waste per safety and environmental procedures; use PPE and proper labeling.
