Description
Operate and tend automated washing equipment to clean and sanitize reusable containers—such as bottles, jars, kegs, drums, and totes—removing residues and contaminants to meet specifications.
  • • Operate and tend container-washing machines to remove residues and contaminants from bottles, jars, kegs, drums, and totes.
  • • Add specified amounts of detergents, sanitizers, and other chemicals to tanks at required intervals to maintain solution levels and concentrations.
  • • Drain, clean, and refill wash and rinse tanks on schedule using water and approved cleaning solutions.
  • • Measure, weigh, or mix cleaning and sanitizing solutions using measuring tanks, calibrated rods, or suction tubes.
  • • Draw solution samples or test for pH, conductivity, or specific gravity to verify conformance to specifications.
  • • Monitor machine operations, gauges, and thermometers, and adjust controls to maintain temperature, pressure, flow, and cycle parameters.
  • • Set controls for wash, rinse, and sanitize cycles, and start conveyors, pumps, sprayers, and agitators.
  • • Inspect machines, spray nozzles, and filters to detect clogs, leaks, or malfunctions.
  • • Record readings, chemicals used, batch numbers, cycle times, and test results in logs or electronic systems.
  • • Perform routine cleaning, adjustments, and lubrication of machine components using hand tools and grease guns.
  • • Load dirty containers onto the machine and unload cleaned containers to conveyors, racks, or pallets, inspecting cleanliness and integrity.
