Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate, including finance, investment, development, appraisal, property management, urban economics, and real estate law. Combine teaching with scholarly research, student advising, and service, and collaborate with industry to provide experiential learning.
  • • Prepare and deliver lectures on real estate finance, investment, valuation, development, property management, and law.
  • • Evaluate and grade students' assignments, projects, and papers.
  • • Create, administer, and grade quizzes and examinations.
  • • Develop syllabi, case studies, project briefs, and other course materials.
  • • Maintain attendance, grades, and other required student records.
  • • Lead case discussions, workshops, and site-based learning activities.
  • • Plan, assess, and update real estate curricula, content, and instructional methods.
  • • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
  • • Stay current with research, market trends, regulations, and professional practices.
  • • Advise students on academic planning, licensure pathways, and career options in real estate.
  • • Select textbooks, datasets, and software tools for market analysis and valuation.
  • • Collaborate with faculty across business, planning, and construction disciplines on teaching and research.
  • • Partner with developers, brokers, lenders, appraisers, REITs, and public agencies to enhance programs and internships.
  • • Support student recruitment, registration, and internship or job placement activities.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, or university committees.
  • • Participate in campus, industry, and community events and forums.
  • • Compile reading lists and bibliographies of scholarly and industry materials.
  • • Perform administrative duties, such as directing a real estate center or program.
  • • Supervise teaching assistants and oversee student research, studios, and internships.
  • • Conduct empirical or theoretical research in real estate and publish in academic or professional outlets.
  • • Advise or sponsor real estate student clubs and case competition teams.
  • • Provide professional consulting or executive education to government or industry partners.
  • • Prepare grant proposals and pursue external research or program funding.
  • • Build and maintain course websites and online learning resources.
  • • Mentor new faculty and coordinate with adjunct industry instructors.
