Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in business administration—such as accounting, finance, human resources, labor relations, marketing, operations, and strategy—and conduct scholarly research. Provide advising, curriculum development, and service to the department, college, and profession while engaging with industry and the academic community.
  • • Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures on topics such as financial accounting, marketing strategy, operations, and analytics.
  • • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
  • • Develop, administer, and grade examinations, or oversee grading by teaching assistants.
  • • Develop syllabi, assignments, cases, and other course materials.
  • • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • • Plan, assess, and revise curricula, course content, and teaching methods.
  • • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
  • • Stay current with research and industry trends through literature, conferences, and professional engagement.
  • • Advise students on academic progress, research paths, and career options.
  • • Select textbooks, cases, software, and other instructional resources.
  • • Collaborate with faculty on teaching initiatives and research projects.
  • • Partner with industry to enhance programs, develop experiential learning, and secure internships or projects.
  • • Support student recruitment, orientation, and placement initiatives.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
  • • Engage in campus and community outreach events.
  • • Curate reading lists and bibliographies for courses and independent study.
  • • Undertake administrative roles, such as program coordinator or department chair.
  • • Supervise undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants, internships, theses, and dissertations.
  • • Conduct original research in business disciplines and publish in peer-reviewed journals, books, or digital media.
  • • Present research at academic and professional conferences.
  • • Advise student organizations and case competition teams.
  • • Provide professional consulting or executive education to government and industry.
  • • Prepare grant proposals and secure external and internal research funding.
  • • Develop and maintain course sites and digital learning materials.
  • • Mentor junior faculty and support their teaching and research development.
