Description
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management information systems, including data management, systems analysis and design, business analytics, IT project management, cybersecurity governance, and digital strategy. Role combines teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly research in information systems.
- • Prepare and deliver lectures and hands-on labs on databases (SQL), systems analysis and design, business analytics, ERP, and IT strategy.
- • Evaluate and grade assignments, projects, case analyses, and coding or lab work.
- • Develop, administer, and grade examinations and practical assessments.
- • Create syllabi, project briefs, datasets, and instructional materials.
- • Maintain attendance, grades, and other required student records in the LMS.
- • Initiate and moderate discussions on technology trends, ethics, and IS management.
- • Design, review, and update MIS curricula, course content, and teaching methods.
- • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
- • Stay current with IS research and industry practices through scholarship and professional engagement.
- • Advise students on academic pathways, certifications, and IS career options.
- • Select and secure textbooks, software licenses, datasets, and lab resources.
- • Collaborate with faculty on teaching, interdisciplinary projects, and research.
- • Partner with industry to enhance programs, develop capstones, and arrange internships.
- • Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities for MIS programs.
- • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees and accreditation efforts.
- • Engage in campus and community outreach related to technology and innovation.
- • Compile and share reading lists and technical references for advanced study.
- • Perform administrative duties such as program coordination or course leadership.
- • Supervise teaching assistants, student research, internships, and IS capstone projects.
- • Conduct and publish research in information systems and related fields.
- • Advise student organizations, such as AIS or data analytics clubs.
- • Provide consulting or executive education to government, nonprofits, or industry on IS topics.
- • Prepare grant proposals and industry partnerships to secure research and program funding.
- • Develop and maintain course and project websites, LMS shells, and Git repositories.
- • Mentor new faculty and support their integration into MIS teaching and research.
