Description
Support scientific research by setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment; preparing specimens and reagents; monitoring experiments; collecting samples; and recording and analyzing data. Ensure compliance with protocols, quality standards, and safety regulations. May analyze biological, environmental, or pharmaceutical materials.
- • Keep detailed logs of all research activities and results.
- • Monitor laboratory work for compliance with protocols, QA/QC, biosafety, and regulatory standards.
- • Prepare, isolate, and identify specimens and samples for analysis.
- • Operate computers, data acquisition systems, and automated or robotic lab equipment.
- • Conduct or assist with experiments, including collection and processing of biological or environmental samples.
- • Set up, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and field instruments.
- • Provide technical support to scientists and project teams in biology, biomedical, environmental, or related fields.
- • Clean, organize, and restock work areas and shared equipment.
- • Assist in research, development, or production of biomedical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnological materials.
- • Perform standardized biological, microbiological, or biochemical assays and quality tests on samples or products.
- • Analyze experimental data, generate figures, and prepare reports and summaries.
- • Prepare reagents; measure and weigh compounds, buffers, and solutions for experiments.
- • Monitor and document experimental conditions, production runs, and test data for review by research staff.
- • Handle, observe, and assess laboratory animals or model organisms as required, following approved protocols.
- • Feed and care for laboratory animals, if applicable.
- • Enter and manage data in electronic lab notebooks and databases.
- • Order, receive, and inventory laboratory supplies and equipment.
