Description
Operate and control water treatment plant processes and equipment, using control boards and automated systems, to produce safe, reliable drinking water.
  • • Add and adjust treatment chemicals (e.g., coagulants, chlorine, ammonia, lime, fluoride) to meet target water quality.
  • • Operate and adjust pumps, valves, filters, and SCADA controls to purify water and meet flow and pressure demands.
  • • Monitor meters, gauges, and process data to assess load, detect alarms, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • • Collect and analyze water samples for turbidity, pH, alkalinity, chlorine residuals, and other water quality parameters.
  • • Record operational data, test results, and meter readings in logs and regulatory reports.
  • • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, chemical feed systems, and instrumentation.
  • • Coordinate with operators and maintenance staff during shifts, startups, shutdowns, and outages.
  • • Backwash filters and clean basins, tanks, and work areas to maintain plant performance and safety.
