Description
Operate and control filtration systems and related equipment to remove solids and contaminants from water or wastewater using control panels, SCADA, and field instruments.
- • Dose coagulants, oxidants, and filter aids to optimize particle removal and meet treatment targets.
- • Operate and adjust filters, backwash and air-scour sequences, and flow controls to maintain turbidity and throughput.
- • Inspect filters, pumps, and valves; monitor gauges and SCADA to track pressure differentials and detect fouling or failures.
- • Collect and test influent and effluent samples for turbidity, particle counts, chlorine residual, pH, and other parameters.
- • Record filter run data, chemical feed rates, alarms, and lab results in logs and electronic systems.
- • Maintain and repair filtration equipment, including media, underdrains, strainers, membranes, pumps, and valves; perform CIP and routine lubrication.
- • Coordinate with operators and maintenance staff on filter changeouts, isolations, and scheduled cleanings.
