Description
Operate and control potable water distribution systems, using SCADA and field equipment to regulate pumps, valves, and storage for safe, reliable delivery.
  • • Coordinate field crews and contractors during main breaks, valve operations, flushing, and service connections.
  • • Flush mains and hydrants; clean and maintain reservoirs, pump stations, and work areas while following safety procedures.
  • • Operate pumps, valves, PRVs, and storage tanks to maintain system pressure, flow, and levels.
  • • Monitor SCADA, meters, and pressure zones; inspect stations and mains to detect leaks or malfunctions.
  • • Collect and test distribution water samples for disinfectant residuals, bacteriological quality, and other parameters.
  • • Adjust booster chlorination or corrosion control feed to maintain residuals and meet water quality standards.
  • • Record tank levels, pressures, flows, residuals, and work activities in logs, CMMS, and required reports.
  • • Maintain and repair hydrants, valves, meters, pumps, and PRVs; perform preventive maintenance and lubrication.
