Description
Take orders and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and light fare to guests in bars or lounges, deliver prompt tableside service, upsell specialty drinks, and ensure responsible alcohol service.
- • Check patrons' identification to verify legal drinking age.
- • Open, manage, and close tabs; process cash and credit payments and split checks.
- • Enter drink and food orders into the POS for the bar and kitchen.
- • Take drink orders and recommend cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- • Check back with guests, address issues, and coordinate remakes with the bar.
- • Serve cocktails, beer, wine, and bottle service; carry and deliver trays safely.
- • Present bar and cocktail menus; describe ingredients, flavor profiles, and preparation methods.
- • Promote daily specials and featured cocktails; upsell premium brands and add-ons.
- • Prepare itemized checks with taxes and service charges and obtain signatures for tabs.
- • Maintain and reset cocktail tables, rails, and lounge areas between guests.
- • Assist bartenders by prepping garnishes and stocking ice, glassware, mixers, and napkins.
- • Stock service stations with straws, stirrers, coasters, napkins, and small-plate condiments.
- • Provide bottle presentations, set up ice buckets, and pour wine or champagne at tables.
- • Monitor guest intoxication and follow cut-off and intervention procedures; notify manager or security as needed.
- • Coordinate seating for your section and VIP tables; assist with reservations and guest lists.
- • Clear glassware and plates and run items to the dish area; keep service areas tidy.
- • Complete side work such as rolling silverware for lounge bites and setting up stations for shifts or events.
- • Follow sanitation and safety procedures; wipe spills promptly and keep pathways clear.
- • Provide guests with information about the venue, entertainment schedule, and nearby attractions.
- • Prepare simple mixed drinks or coffee at a service station when required by house policy.
- • Handle cash drops and tip reporting according to company policy.
- • Use handheld POS devices to speed service in high-volume or gaming areas.
