Description
Set up, replenish, and attend buffet lines; assist guests with selections, serve items at attended stations, clear and reset tables, and maintain food safety and cleanliness throughout service.
- • Set up and maintain buffet lines, stations, and displays according to service standards.
- • Replenish hot and cold food pans promptly, coordinating with kitchen staff.
- • Monitor and record food temperatures and rotation to meet food safety requirements.
- • Portion and serve items at attended stations (e.g., carving, omelet, or dessert) as required.
- • Explain buffet offerings, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods to guests.
- • Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues.
- • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, soft drinks, and mixed beverages; chill and pour wines or beers as applicable.
- • Check patrons' identification when serving alcoholic beverages.
- • Clear, pre-bus, and reset tables and counters between guest visits.
- • Stock service areas with tableware, linens, condiments, beverages, and smallwares.
- • Roll silverware and set up dining areas or food stations for the next shift or large parties.
- • Keep buffet areas clean and organized, replacing serving utensils and maintaining sneeze guards.
- • Garnish and refresh platters and chafers to maintain an appealing presentation.
- • Perform light food prep such as salads, cold items, desserts, and brewing coffee as needed.
- • Present pricing, promotions, or daily features to guests.
- • Assist with seating and guiding guests to the buffet; answer questions and thank guests.
- • Remove dishes and glassware to the kitchen for cleaning; take out trash as needed.
- • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and tidy server and buffet stations; check and clean restrooms as assigned.
- • Fill and maintain condiment, napkin, salt, pepper, sugar, and creamer containers.
- • Enforce buffet policies, such as using a clean plate for each visit and preventing cross-contamination.
- • Prepare checks, process payments, and provide receipts when applicable.
- • Communicate low-stock items and special requests to kitchen or management promptly.
- • Assist with event setup or takeaway beverage and dessert service as directed.
- • Provide guests with basic local information or directions when requested.
