Description
Take drink and bar food orders, serve beverages at the bar and lounge tables, maintain bar service areas, manage tabs and payments, and ensure responsible alcohol service.
- • Enter drink and food orders into the POS for bar and kitchen.
- • Check patrons' identification to ensure legal drinking age and compliance with alcohol laws.
- • Open, manage, and close tabs; collect payments and issue receipts.
- • Take and deliver drink orders at the bar and in lounge or high-top areas.
- • Monitor guests' alcohol consumption and refuse service when necessary; inform management as needed.
- • Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages; pour draft beer properly.
- • Present bar and cocktail menus; answer questions and make recommendations.
- • Inform guests of drink specials, happy hours, and featured spirits or beers.
- • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
- • Serve bar snacks and food items as required.
- • Prepare checks that itemize and total tabs, taxes, and gratuities.
- • Explain ingredients and preparation of specialty cocktails, beers, and wines.
- • Set up and restock the bar with glassware, garnishes, ice, napkins, and straws.
- • Prepare garnishes, syrups, and mixers; slice fruits and rim glasses.
- • Bus and transport glassware and dishes to dish area; restock clean items.
- • Maintain cleanliness of bar tops, wells, and service stations; sanitize surfaces.
- • Change kegs, restock bottled beer, and rotate inventory by date.
- • Chill wine, beer, and glassware; maintain proper beverage temperatures and ice levels.
- • Roll silverware and set up bar stations for the next shift or large parties.
- • Assist with seating at the bar and lounge; manage waitlists as needed.
- • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen on drink timing and food delivery.
- • Handle to-go orders in compliance with local regulations and house policies.
- • Perform opening and closing side work, including trash removal and floor cleaning.
- • Provide guests with basic local area information and directions.
- • Report low stock or equipment issues and assist with periodic inventory counts.
