Description
Deliver telepractice assessment and intervention for K–12 students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in virtual school settings. Develop and implement IEP-driven services, select and train use of AAC, and collaborate with educators and families online. Maintain compliance, documentation, and data-driven decision-making using digital tools.
  • • Conduct remote speech and language screenings and standardized assessments using approved telepractice protocols.
  • • Interpret assessment data and background information to determine eligibility and plan services.
  • • Develop IEP goals and individualized treatment plans for articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication.
  • • Deliver individual and group teletherapy sessions with interactive, evidence-based activities.
  • • Monitor progress with digital data tracking and adjust goals and interventions as needed.
  • • Teach communication strategies such as articulation placement, fluency shaping, and vocal hygiene in virtual sessions.
  • • Provide guided oral-motor and breath support exercises adapted for telepractice when appropriate.
  • • Create and assign digital home practice programs and carryover activities.
  • • Train students, caregivers, and school staff in the use of AAC apps or devices; program systems remotely.
  • • Consult with teachers to embed communication supports in virtual and classroom instruction.
  • • Support students who use alternative communication modes, including AAC, sign, captions, or chat.
  • • Provide language support for multilingual learners and guidance on dialect-sensitive practices.
  • • Use teletherapy platforms, assistive technology, and data systems to deliver services and document outcomes.
  • • Prepare evaluation reports, IEP paperwork, progress notes, and Medicaid or billing records in electronic systems.
  • • Participate in and lead virtual IEP, MTSS/RTI, and team meetings; present goals and progress.
  • • Coordinate scheduling, consent, and technology checks across caseloads and schools.
  • • Educate families on strategies to promote communication at home and in online learning.
  • • Refer students to audiology, counseling, OT/PT, or medical providers and coordinate care virtually.
  • • Maintain student privacy and data security in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and district policies.
  • • Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and connectivity issues that affect service delivery.
  • • Supervise and mentor SLPAs, practicum students, or support staff in a remote model.
  • • Engage in online professional development, supervision, and research or quality improvement related to telepractice.
