Description
Sew, join, reinforce, and finish a variety of manufactured items by hand using needles, thread, and related materials, including garments, books, mattresses, toys, and wigs.
- • Sew, join, reinforce, and finish parts of garments, books, mattresses, toys, wigs, and similar items using needles, thread, and related materials.
- • Trim excess threads and edges with scissors or knives.
- • Select appropriate thread, cord, or yarn and thread needles.
- • Draft and cut patterns to specifications.
- • Fold, drape, and secure materials to prepare for sewing.
- • Smooth seams with irons, bone folders, or rubbing sticks.
- • Measure and align parts, fasteners, and trimmings using seams, edges, or markings.
- • Apply techniques such as felling, tacking, basting, embroidery, and fagoting.
