Description
Sew, join, reinforce, and finish mattress covers and components by hand or with industrial sewing equipment to assemble and close mattresses and foundations.
- • Sew, join, reinforce, or finish mattress panels, borders, flanges, and pillow-tops to assemble units.
- • Apply and sew tape-edge or binding to close mattress perimeters.
- • Trim excess threads, fabric, tape, or foam from seams.
- • Select heavy-duty thread, tape, zippers, and notions; thread needles or machines.
- • Measure, mark, and align panels, borders, handles, and vents to specifications.
- • Fold, stretch, and position ticking, quilting, and foam layers; secure for sewing.
- • Use tape-edge, walking-foot, or serging techniques to produce durable seams.
- • Sew zippers, handles, vents, labels, and decorative trims to covers.
- • Smooth and finish seams and edges for a clean appearance.
- • Inspect seams and finished mattresses for defects; repair or restitch as needed.
- • Cut edging tape, fabric, or zipper to length according to work orders.
