Description
Operate and drive a mobile pump truck to transfer liquids, slurries, or chemicals between tanks, pipelines, and process equipment; set up, control, and monitor pumping operations to meet specifications while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
  • • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and drive the pump truck to and from job sites in compliance with DOT and company policies.
  • • Position and secure the truck at the site, set parking brakes and chocks, and establish safe work zones.
  • • Connect hoses, fittings, and manifolds between the truck, tanks, and process equipment using proper tools and procedures.
  • • Engage PTO and start pumps; operate valves and controls to start, route, and regulate flow and pressure.
  • • Monitor truck-mounted gauges, flowmeters, and sensors to maintain specified pressures, rates, temperatures, and tank levels; report abnormalities.
  • • Record products, volumes, pressures, additives, times, and mileage on tickets or electronic logs.
  • • Coordinate with site personnel via radio or hand signals to start, adjust, and shut down flows.
  • • Check fluid levels in truck and site tanks using sight glasses, calibrated rods, or tank charts.
  • • Plan hose runs and flow paths based on site layout, interconnections, and capacity limits.
  • • Meter and blend chemicals or additives into fluids per job specifications.
  • • Collect fluid samples and perform basic field tests (such as pH, viscosity, or density) to verify properties and deliver for analysis as required.
  • • Operate auxiliary equipment such as generators, mixers, heaters, or chemical injection units.
  • • Clean, flush, and service pumps, hoses, and tanks; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • • Implement spill prevention and containment, and follow site safety and environmental procedures.
