Description
Tend, control, and operate pneumatic conveying (airveyor) systems, blowers, and manifolds to move dry bulk powders, pellets, and granules between railcars, trucks, silos, hoppers, and process equipment while maintaining specified flows, pressures, and product quality.
- • Monitor airflow and pressure gauges, flowmeters, bin level indicators, and HMI alarms; report deviations.
- • Record operating data such as lots, weights transferred, equipment status, and operating times.
- • Communicate with loaders, packaging, and control room via radio or signals to start and stop material flows.
- • Check silo and hopper levels using sensors, sight glasses, or calibrated rods; update tank charts.
- • Start and stop blowers, compressors, and rotary valves; set valves and diverters to regulate routing and flow.
- • Plan movement of materials through lines, manifolds, and storage based on product compatibility and capacities.
- • Read schedules or work orders to determine materials and quantities to convey.
- • Inspect and service airveyors, blowers, filters, and piping; clean, lubricate, and replace wear parts under lockout/tagout.
- • Collect and deliver product samples for laboratory analysis; label with lot and location.
- • Connect and disconnect hoses, couplings, and pipelines between vehicles, silos, and process vessels; ensure leak?free seals.
- • Operate and monitor auxiliary equipment such as dust collectors, air dryers, heat exchangers, and air receivers.
- • Activate bin aeration, vibrators, or approved flow aids to meet transfer specifications.
- • Blend materials by conveying two or more products into one vessel per recipe; verify proportions with scales or meters.
- • Test materials and conveying air for moisture or contamination using instruments; adjust dryers or filters as needed.
