Description
Analyze and evaluate public policies and programs to inform decision-making. Conduct research on policy options, assess impacts and costs, interpret legislation and regulations, and synthesize data and stakeholder input. Develop evidence-based recommendations and communicate findings to government, nonprofit, or private-sector stakeholders.
  • • Identify policy issues and define research questions.
  • • Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data, including surveys, administrative records, and economic indicators.
  • • Conduct impact, cost-benefit, and equity analyses of policy options.
  • • Evaluate programs and policies and develop actionable recommendations.
  • • Interpret and summarize legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • • Draft policy memos, briefs, reports, and presentations for decision-makers.
  • • Prepare and review draft legislation, regulatory comments, and testimony.
  • • Model and forecast social, economic, or fiscal effects of proposed actions.
  • • Design and manage public opinion or stakeholder surveys and focus groups.
  • • Engage stakeholders and subject-matter experts to gather input and build consensus.
  • • Monitor political, legal, and administrative developments relevant to assigned portfolios.
  • • Advise agency leaders, elected officials, or organizational management on policy choices and implementation.
  • • Develop performance metrics and evaluation plans to track outcomes.
  • • Coordinate cross-functional project teams and timelines.
