Description
Apply and mix pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides via sprays, dusts, vapors, or soil treatments to trees, shrubs, lawns, and crops; calibrate equipment and follow label directions and safety protocols. Usually requires specific training and state or federal certification.
  • • Read labels, calculate mix rates, and fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals.
  • • Mix and load pesticides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, and crops.
  • • Calibrate sprayers and set droplet size, pressure, and speed for target coverage.
  • • Operate booms, wands, nozzles, hoses, and tubes to apply products over designated areas.
  • • Start and control pumps, agitators, and portable spray equipment.
  • • Select and connect hoses, tips, and nozzles based on terrain, pattern, and infestation.
  • • Monitor weather and site conditions to minimize drift and ensure safe, effective application.
  • • Clean, inspect, and service spray equipment to maintain operating efficiency.
  • • Coordinate with truck or support vehicle drivers to ensure complete coverage and safe movement.
  • • Identify pests and plant diseases, determine appropriate treatments, and maintain required application records.
