Description
Provide passenger service and safety support aboard train cars and at platforms. Assist with boarding and baggage, prepare berths, explain safety procedures and equipment, keep cars clean and stocked, and answer travel questions.
- • Assist passengers boarding and alighting, including elderly, sick, or injured.
- • Handle baggage and help stow luggage in racks or compartments.
- • Greet passengers, verify tickets or reservations, and direct them to seats or berths; record boarding counts.
- • Explain and demonstrate car safety procedures and emergency equipment.
- • Conduct pre-departure checks of doors, lighting, restrooms, berths, and safety supplies.
- • Prepare and convert sleeping berths; distribute linens, pillows, and amenities.
- • Provide route, schedule, and connection information; announce stops as assigned.
- • Coordinate seating or berth assignments and resolve conflicts.
- • Respond to passenger questions, requests, and complaints; escalate to the conductor when needed.
- • Maintain cleanliness of aisles, restrooms, and compartments; collect trash and restock supplies.
- • Operate vestibule doors, steps, and lifts safely during boarding; signal car readiness per procedures and assist passengers using mobility devices.
- • Adjust window shades, lighting, climate, or seat/berth settings at passenger request.
