Description
Assist intellectual property attorneys by preparing and filing patent, trademark, and copyright documents, investigating facts, and researching IP law and precedent. Conduct searches and manage dockets and portfolios to support prosecution, enforcement, licensing, and litigation.
  • • Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare search reports.
  • • Perform patent prior art and basic landscape searches under attorney supervision.
  • • Prepare and e-file USPTO and international trademark applications, statements of use, renewals, and maintenance.
  • • Prepare and e-file patent documents, including IDSs, declarations, assignments, and application data; obtain inventor signatures.
  • • Docket and track prosecution deadlines, office actions, oppositions, and renewals; issue reminders and reports.
  • • Review and report USPTO and foreign associate correspondence; coordinate draft responses with attorneys.
  • • Record ownership changes with USPTO/WIPO and maintain chain-of-title records.
  • • Manage IP portfolios and databases; organize and maintain electronic files.
  • • Liaise with clients, inventors, foreign associates, and agencies regarding requirements and timelines.
  • • Support IP litigation and TTAB/PTAB matters by organizing exhibits and preparing court or board filings.
  • • Monitor potential infringement and online use; prepare DMCA notices and evidence logs.
  • • Assist with budgeting, invoices, and vendors for searches, translations, and annuity or renewal services.
