Description
Perform hands-on non-destructive examinations of structures, vehicles, and components using radiography, ultrasound, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, thermography, eddy current, fiber-optic, and visual methods to verify integrity and safety without damage. Set up and calibrate equipment, follow procedures and codes, and document and report results.
- • Select, set up, and calibrate NDT equipment for assigned inspections.
- • Perform ultrasonic testing to measure thickness and detect internal flaws.
- • Produce and process radiographic images (film or digital) to reveal discontinuities.
- • Conduct liquid penetrant examinations, including cleaning, application, development, and evaluation.
- • Perform magnetic particle testing to locate surface and near-surface indications.
- • Carry out visual inspections using borescopes, CCTV, or fiber optics to identify corrosion, cracks, or damage.
- • Use thermal or infrared techniques and acoustic emission or leak testing as qualified.
- • Map and size indications using appropriate techniques and reference standards.
- • Interpret and evaluate test results per applicable codes, standards, and procedures within certification limits.
- • Document procedures, test parameters, calibrations, and results with full traceability.
- • Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate findings to QA, engineers, and clients.
- • Identify defects in concrete, welds, and other materials using appropriate NDT methods.
- • Maintain NDT equipment and consumables; comply with safety, radiation, and quality requirements.
- • Assist in developing or refining technique sheets and work setups for recurring inspections.
- • Perform eddy current, vibration analysis, or leak testing as qualified and required.
- • Inspect structures and assets such as aircraft, pipelines, pressure vessels, bridges, and plant equipment using approved NDT techniques.
