Description
Engineer and execute non-destructive testing to assess the integrity and safety of structures, vehicles, and components, selecting and optimizing methods such as radiography, ultrasound, thermography, eddy current, and fiber optics.
  • • Lead and mentor NDT technicians and trainees.
  • • Develop NDT procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
  • • Plan inspection strategies and select methods for specific materials and geometries.
  • • Select, configure, calibrate, and validate NDT equipment and reference standards.
  • • Produce and interpret radiographic images to detect subsurface flaws while preserving components.
  • • Perform ultrasonic testing to identify and size defects in solid materials.
  • • Conduct thermal or infrared testing to locate defects in concrete and other building materials.
  • • Execute liquid penetrant testing, including cleaning, application, and development.
  • • Perform visual and remote visual examinations using endoscopes, CCTV, and fiber optics.
  • • Map and size internal imperfections using sonic measurements and advanced signal analysis.
  • • Interpret and evaluate results per applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • • Document methods, setups, calibrations, and results; prepare technical reports.
  • • Develop and qualify new or improved NDT techniques such as acoustic emission, eddy current, leak testing, and infrared.
  • • Specify probes, detectors, fixtures, and consumables; manage equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • • Ensure safety and radiation protection compliance during NDT operations.
  • • Inspect structures and vehicles such as aircraft, trains, bridges, dams, pipelines, and reactors using NDT techniques.
  • • Support root cause analysis and recommend repair or acceptance dispositions based on findings.
  • • Maintain NDT records and support audits and certification programs.
