Description
Coordinate and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) programs to verify the safety and integrity of structures, vehicles, and vessels using radiographic, ultrasonic, fiber optic, and related methods.
- • Plan and schedule NDT inspections on structures, vehicles, and critical assets; allocate resources and assignments.
- • Supervise and mentor NDT technicians and trainees.
- • Select appropriate NDT methods and acceptance criteria per codes, standards, and procedures.
- • Ensure equipment selection, calibration, verification, and maintenance.
- • Review, interpret, and approve NDT results (RT, UT, PT, MT, ET, VT, IR).
- • Validate image and data quality; authorize retests or rework as needed.
- • Develop, implement, and update NDT procedures and work instructions.
- • Maintain complete documentation of methods, processes, results, and traceability.
- • Coordinate radiation safety and other jobsite safety controls for NDT activities.
- • Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, and clients to define inspection scope and deliverables.
- • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- • Manage subcontractors and specialty labs for advanced or emergent NDT methods.
- • Coordinate training, certifications, continuity logs, and vision exams for NDT personnel.
- • Analyze indication trends and defect data to recommend corrective actions.
- • Oversee digital imaging, data management, and secure archiving of NDT records.
- • Prepare and deliver inspection reports, summaries, and client-ready documentation.
