Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate rehabilitation services (PT/OT/SLP) across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, overseeing staff, programs, quality, compliance, and financial performance to optimize patient outcomes.
- • Direct, supervise, and evaluate PT, OT, SLP, rehab techs, and support staff.
- • Set clinical, productivity, and patient-outcome goals and KPIs for rehabilitation services.
- • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and competency-based training for therapy staff.
- • Oversee EMR templates, documentation standards, coding, and outcomes reporting for rehab.
- • Develop and enforce rehab policies, treatment protocols, and regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission, CARF).
- • Manage budgets, staffing models, charge capture, and financial reporting for therapy services.
- • Create staffing plans, schedules, and caseload assignments based on referrals and acuity.
- • Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and case management to integrate rehab into care pathways and discharge planning.
- • Monitor therapy utilization, throughput, and equipment use; plan for staffing and capital needs.
- • Track evidence-based practices, assistive technologies, payer rules, and accreditation requirements.
- • Lead service growth, tele-rehab, and technology adoption across inpatient and outpatient programs.
- • Prepare dashboards and reports on volumes, outcomes, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction.
- • Plan and oversee specialized rehab programs (e.g., neuro, ortho, cardiac, pediatric).
- • Build and manage referral networks; engage community partners and market rehab services.
- • Inspect gyms and treatment areas; recommend space and equipment improvements for safety and accessibility.
- • Analyze productivity, cancellations/no-shows, payor mix, and unit costs to optimize performance.
- • Ensure survey readiness, risk management, and incident review within rehabilitation services.
- • Develop clinical education, in-services, and community education on prevention and recovery.
